Outside of its core skills in user-centered innovation (to which this website is dedicated), you may want to look up the following independent, creative & social innovation platforms that Quicksand has incubated and continues to support. These are what create an innovation eco-system within which our professional practice is located:

- B.L.O.T (Basic Love of Things) - A multidisciplinary project with musical experiences at the core of their work, BLOT explores content creation through the visual arts, moving image and artifacts. As a performance ensemble, BLOT has been active at music, dance and cultural venues in India and abroad – with an agenda to alter experiences through music, visuals and space design. As a content creator, BLOT has built up a body of work that comprises graphic art, music videos, experimental film and new media.

- Blindboys - Blindboys is a photocommune – a community driven space which uses simple and effective ways to reach out to photographers and audiences. BlindBoys is committed to exploring effective ways to bring these two together. Using internet and social media and then translating that into real events like the blowup (an improvised street exhibition where everyone is invited to come and display their work on the streets together with other photographers), BlindBoys builds a community based on sharing – an alternative to the journey of the photograph from its creation to it’s consumption. It has over 1200 members from over 24 countries and as on date (March 2010) has published over 25 essays on it’s site focusing on diverse perspectives from Asia and beyond. BlindBoys has also organized 4 blowups in Bangalore, Paris and Delhi and Bali – displaying works from over 20 photographers and 3500 photographs. BlindBoys is a free platform and will remain so.

- Metagood – A not for profit social innovation platform that is currently incubating the a crowdfunding platform called Good Crowds. Good Crowds will fund social innovation in the spheres of journalism, art, technology and legal action. The assumption is that if it were made easier for people to contribute, then more people with financial wherewithal can do so. Also, many social impact projects don’t get started because of long, unwieldy process of fund raising. This platform would make the fund raising process extremely efficient for socially relevant projects that get showcased on the platform.
