Uncovering Opportunities for Health and Wellbeing

Project Brief

The product innovation team at Samsung Electronics approached Quicksand with the objective of uncovering latent opportunities within the growing trend of wellness and active lifestyle. The ubiquity and connectedness of consumer electronics in people's lives was capitalized on to help explore the opportunity of growing trend of wellness and how consumer technology could provide users more control and ability to self-diagnose and monitor lifestyle diseases.


Ethnographic Study

Quicksand identified key user insights around health and developed breakthrough product opportunities on the basis of those for household and digital appliances through an ethnographic study over four Indian cities and in collaboration with experts in medical technology and design.

Ideation Sessions

We also helped develop an ideation framework that facilitated engagement with the client's internal R&D and marketing teams around opportunity identification and validation. The product opportunities identified through this project were presented to global marketing teams in order to prioritize concepts that would go into research and development.
