Re-branding Arts & Culture Platforms

Project Brief

The Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) promotes greater mutual understanding between Asia and Europe through intellectual, cultural and people-to-people exchanges. Quicksand was approached to re-visualise two sub-platforms of ASEF – culture360 and Mobility First.

Culture360.asef.org brings Asia and Europe closer by providing information, facilitating dialogue and stimulating reflection on the arts and culture of the two regions. With this as the starting point for the exercise, we re-branded the identity for culture360, defined the tone and visual language and  designed a family of communication collateral to extend the new branding. The collateral include a partners-kit, a guideline for people to explore various kinds of potential collaborations. The kit was accompanied by web banners and social media templates in a similar illustrative theme. 

Mobility First!, is an open call specifically aimed for individual artists and cultural professionals from selective Asian countries, which are looking to strengthen their cultural practice through connecting with their counterparts in the Global South. Quicksand created a visual identity for the platform; web elements and other communication collateral that embody the same. The logo was inspired from way-finding signage symbolising choice of creative expression and freedom of movement.
